States and local health officials are preparing for this fall and winter's triple threat of respiratory viruses: COVID-19, the flu, and RSV. Officials are already urging Americans to get their vaccinations ahead of what is predicted to be an intense winter respiratory season.

“We are very, very concerned about the upcoming pan-respiratory season,” said Dr. Marcus Plescia, chief medical officer of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), during a media briefing to NBC News on August 9th. ASTHO is an organization representing public health agencies across the country.

The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) is encouraging its older adult members to pay high attention this year to the status of respiratory infections, pushing for early vaccinations and cautionary self-care practices to stay healthy over the cold months when infections such as influenza, RSV, and Covid become a higher threat to the well-being of older adults.

As our senior living communities prepare and brace for the pending flu season, Eldermark is prepared to equip them with our newest solution for infection control management – Peerlytics.

Infection Control Management Software and How it Helps Senior Living Communities

Peerlytics integrates with Eldermark’s electronic health care management platform to give communities all the tools they need for effective and efficient infection control practices all in one place. This includes the complete range of infection control management features such as vaccination records, infection tracking for emerging, existing, and resolving infections, records management offering robust data analytics, and report generation for accountability to regulatory authority.

The COVID-19 pandemic shed a spotlight on the need for better, smarter infection control management, especially in light of the increasing demands from regulatory authority. Peerlytics follows the guidelines and requirements set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and its functions and features are all HIPAA-compliant.
